Kerry Jack News

Sorrento Stud’s Triple Crown winner Louis The King is the latest addition to a star-studded line-up for the Highlands part of Ridgemont Stallion Parade evening on Friday 25 May.

He joins Admiral Kitten, Canford Cliffs, Coup de Grace, Dynasty, Flower Alley, Jackson, Oratorio, Pathfork,  Quasillo , Querari, Rafeef , Soft Falling Rain, Time Thief, Vercingetorix, Visionaire and William Longsword for the Cape’s biggest stallion parade in memory.

The 2014 SA Triple Crown winner, whose eyecatching first foals arrived in 2017, was one of the best horses of his generation. The son of Black Minnaloushe won or placed in 11 of 15 outings and earned over R5 million in prize money.

The versatile galloper won from 1400-2450m, and included the Sansui Summer Cup in his list of successes.

One of more than 60 stakes horses sired by Storm Cat’s dual Gr1 winner Black Minnaloushe, Louis The King traces back in female line to the legendary racemare and producer Pretty Polly –also ancestress of champion sires Nearctic, Cape Cross, Northern Taste, Great Nephew, and past South African champions Sybil’s Nephew and Abadan II.

Louis The King bids to follow in the footsteps of the liikes of top class South African bred sires, such as Captain Al, Dynasty, Jet Master and What A Winter.
