On the Prowl with Louis

Kerry Jack News

"Louis The King's victory in the 2014 Grade 1 South African Derby, saw him become only the second horse to claim Triple Crown glory in the modern era of South African horseracing, Abashiri who emulated the feat last season, is of course our most recent South African Triple Crown Champion, but we still need to hail the all conquering king, and honour him and his achievements as a racehorse."  Read more: http://www.sahracing.com/index/contents/news/25490#

“There is every reason in the world to give ‘Louis’ a chance.  He brings an exceptional race record to stud, which would have been even better if not for injury and, as pedigree authority Karel Miedema points out, he hails from a prolific stallion producing female line."  Read more...http://www.turftalk.co.za/loui...

Buy Low, Sell High

Kerry Jack News

Up-and-coming bloodstock agent Kerry Jack commented:  “There are CTS Ready To Run Sales in October and November, so if you pinhook a horse at the August Sale you will have just over three months to pay for its keep.  The good thing is that in these three months the young horses mature, some come to hand quickly, they develop naturally, like blossoms in spring. Three months from now they are bigger, stronger and they look generally better. The ugly ducklings of August begin to resemble swans in November. It follows that their sales prices can differ markedly from one sale to...

Melbourne Premier Yearling sales

Kerry Jack News

I have just returned from an interesting week at the Melbourne Premier yearling sale.  Inglis, as always, did a world class job of getting a number of South Africans out there and the hospitality from the team and the accommodation at Crown was top class.  As with all Australasian sales this year, the sale was incredibly strong and it was tough going for those of us spending Rands, but there were some lovely horses on offer and most of the "saffers" managed to come home with a horse or two.  We managed to secure a lovely Foxwedge colt for a Hong Kong client, but sadly fell short and were outbid on...
